Metal Slug Tactics announces the release of Nintendo Switch in a new trailer of Gamepla

We knew that the METAL SLUG SLUG FRANCHISE came back in the form of the METAL SLUG TACTICS SRPG based on the grid, but we did not know that the game was heading to Nintendo Switch. The ad was made earlier in the day as part of Nintendo's Indie World Showcase presentation alongside a stripped gameplay trailer.

Although the video is quite short, it contains a lot of things in its 45-second run and does a great job to show what players can expect from Metal Slug Tactics. If this trailer is something to do, the final game will be an incredibly smooth pixel art extravagance with a complex 3D level design.

In the trailer, we have a quick overview of a headquarters filled with winks to the long-standing history of the series - and a terry bogard poster - before the four expandant protagonists, the powers First line Marco, ERI, FIO and TARMA, go to fight. The arrangement of the headquarters is very detailed, contains specific areas for each character and looks like a treat to explore.

Once the crew moves, we are shown some quick overview of certain specific levels, how the characters move and what the Metal Slug tans are similar to the series in action. The animation is incredibly fluid and sprites are very detailed, making the game a visual delight even for newcomers in the series.

The video also shows destructible environments, special attacks and levels that combine mixed provisions and hand-made terrain tiles with subtle elements of roguelite. The result seems to be incredibly fun and offer a ton of replay value.

If this is not enough to invest, the video also contains a giant mechanical laser dragon / serpent that the protagonists must fight. Because who does not like giant mechanical lasers dragons / snakes?

Metal Slug Tactics will be available on PC and Nintendo Switch in 2022.
